At BMC, the dedicated Tool Technician issues and restocks tools and equipment. This individual's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing tool repairs, inventories, and preventive maintenance; and ordering parts and supplies.
Issue tools and equipment.
Identify equipment needing repair or replacement.
Perform adjustments, repairs and preventative maintenance.
Inspect, maintain and calibrate tools and equipment.
Ensure all tools are sharp and in safe working order.
Keep records of tools and equipment.
Keep tools and equipment functional and ready for use.
Test power equipment.
Order replacement parts and supplies.
Prepare kits for teams.
Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.
Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.
Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.
Open and responsive to change.
Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Adhere to the Company’s safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
May require a valid driver’s license. May require OSHA Safety Training.
- Minimum Experience: at least 3 months of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
