At BMC, the dedicated Tool Technician issues and restocks tools and equipment. This individual's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing tool repairs, inventories, and preventive maintenance; and ordering parts and supplies.


  • Issue tools and equipment.

  • Identify equipment needing repair or replacement.

  • Perform adjustments, repairs and preventative maintenance.

  • Inspect, maintain and calibrate tools and equipment.

  • Ensure all tools are sharp and in safe working order.

  • Keep records of tools and equipment.

  • Keep tools and equipment functional and ready for use.

  • Test power equipment.

  • Order replacement parts and supplies.

  • Prepare kits for teams.

  • Track warranties.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.

  • Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.

  • Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.

  • Open and responsive to change.

  • Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.

  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

  • Adhere to the Company’s safety standards and enforce safety regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • May require a valid driver’s license. May require OSHA Safety Training.

Required Experience

  • Minimum Experience: at least 3 months of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
