The Assistant Install Manager is second-in-command of the Install Bay and is responsible for assisting the Install Manager in:
Achieving all audio & detail labor goals and profit contribution objectives
Achieving results that exceed Company minimum standards in all install bay operational areas including install staff training and development; the customer experience; loss prevention; turnover and safety; team professionalism; product board displays and housekeeping.
Establishing and maintaining the Company culture within the install bay through personally demonstrating and reinforcing Company Guiding Principles.
Providing leadership in the install/sales/customer service process through presentation and delivery of personal installs and customer interactions to standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures that the team exceeds minimum customer service and minimum install standards through active participation in both training and reinforcement functions.
Demonstrates desired activities in all personal customer interactions, both internal and external.
Reinforces dress code and professional conduct.
Ensures that RTAs and clean car guarantees are being performed to standards.
Assists Install Manager by enforcing accurate and timely completion of detail sheets when in charge of the bay.
Shares in “no charge” labor and assists CSEs in sales presentations whenever possible.
Assists in attainment of install bay financial goals by modeling and reinforcing in others minimum customer service and install standards, compliance with operational and loss prevention procedures/policies.
Participates in providing individual and group training in install technique so that both individual and team financial production are increased.
Leads install, customer service and operational performance b setting a professional example.
Meets individual performance standards.
Actively participates in weekly install team meetings and works with the rest of the team to surface and resolve install issues and reinforce together the solutions.
Actively establishes working relationships based on trust and respect and ensure that all install personnel do the same. Refuses to tolerate any less in team members.
Participates in all aspects of install bay personnel development and actively seeks Install Manager guidance and delegation in this endeavor.
When running the bay, is directly responsible for individual coaching and labor inspection.
Observes and, as assigned, participates in growth planning and performance reviews.
Acts as mentor to new and struggling installers.
Marketing, Merchandising and Housekeeping
Ensures that installation benches are clean, organized at all times and that the floor is swept regularly throughout the workday.
Assists Install Manager, as directed, in ensuring that display boards are functional and in accordance with the current job plan.
Directly responsible for ensuring that every install team member maintains his/her Area of Responsibility to standard.
Directly responsible for timely and accurate parts logs maintenance.
Assists Install Manager in ensuring paperwork accuracy and inventory control.
Reinforces TimeSaver requirements and assists with timely maintenance of the parts budget.
As an Install Manager in Training, actively establishes with the Install Manager and adheres to a personal career development plan to gain skills necessary to succeed as an Install Manager.
Personally completes all appropriate training and testing opportunities, including the attainment of a 1st Class MECP Certification.
Maximizes on-the-job opportunities to learn and practice managerial functions.
Completes all appropriate training and testing opportunities including attainment of Detailing certification within six(6) months of hire.
When in charge of the Install Bay, Assistant Install Managers supervise 4-8 employees. They do not have budgetary authority.
This position is responsible for executing pertinent group and departmental Key Metrics.
Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers, subordinates, internal and external customers. Must build, reinforce and demonstrate effective teamwork between store team members and between store employees and the rest of the Company.
Prior successful installation experience required with strong installation and car stereo product knowledge.
Current MECP 1st Class Certification or the ability to pass the certification test.
Demonstrated adaptability in a changing environment.
Willingness to follow and uphold Company policies and procedures.
Current valid drivers’ license and a good driving record.

Repetitive use of hands as well as bending and stooping

Work is performed in an installation bay designed for vehicles such as cars, trucks, boats.
