This position supervises clerical employees in the Records Section of the Police Department. Trains employees in department procedures and on new equipment, evaluates performance of employees, delegates and schedules work of subordinate personnel, provides technical direction, and recommends disciplinary action to the Chief of Police, Bureau Commander or Division Commander. Conducts background investigations for business permits issued by the City and approves them for the Chief of Police. May represent the Police Department in presenting information to the various licensing boards of the City. Acts as the official custodian of records for the Police Department. Manages the current computerized records management system for the Police Department and the security for the data therein.
