Industrial Health and Safety Shift Training SpecialistJOB SUMMARY:* Primary training assignments in support of shift needs will be AHA FirstAid and CPR/AED, Vendor and Subcontractor Orientation Training, Respiratory* Protection Training, Hazardous Waste Operations, and Emergency Response(HAZWOPER) classroom training, and Powered Industrial Truck and Elevated* Work Platform classroom training and practical evaluations.* Secondary training assignments will be based on the individuals'experience in industrial safety and health, plant operations, plantelectrical, IandC, or mechanical maintenance, toxic area operations, orhazardous waste and emergency response.* Develop and teach courseware for a chemical demilitarization facility witha focus on plant operations, plant maintenance, environmental safetyand health, emergency response, or toxic area operations* Confer with operations, maintenance, safety, environmental, medical, andother project supervision to gain knowledge of work situation and utilizethe JTA to determine the required training objectives for employees* Translate regulatory and procedural requirements into course content* Use the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process for thedevelopment of all training materials.* Design and develop exams to measure participant comprehension of thetraining materials.* Maintain and update training materials as required,* Conduct training in support of the training schedule and shift trainingneeds* Act as course owner and subject matter expert for assigned courses andcommunicate closely with operations, maintenance, security, environmental,safety, medical, and other project supervision to ensure that the trainingcourse meets all regulatory and project requirements.* Provide other training support activities as assigned by the TrainingManager.* Must be able to pass background checks and drug screening requirements forentry to a controlled US Government facility* Must be eligible for entry into the US Army's Unescorted Access Program(UAP) for chemical agents* Must be able to pass medical screening requirements for use of a militaryM40 mask for escape purposes.* Must be able to work a rotating (DuPont) shift schedule.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Requires a BA/BS degree and 4 years of training work experience; or anadvance degree in the field of discipline; or 6-10 years of experience, andan AA/AS degree; or 10+ years technical training work experience with nodegree; or 15+ years of work experience in a highly-regulated industry(e.g. commercial, Navy, or DOE nuclear; chemical; pharmaceutical; refinery;chemical demilitarization; etc.)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Experience operating powered industrial trucks and elevated work platforms* Proven presentation and public speaking skills and experience. Ability toapply a variety of learning concepts and principles directed towardsadults.* Strong organizational skills. Self-starter. Able to multi-task andprioritize. Team player. Effective problem solver.* Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Stronginterpersonal skills.* Experience in a highly-regulated industry (e.g. commercial, Navy, or DOEnuclear; chemical; pharmaceutical; refinery; chemical demilitarization; etc.)* Understanding of plant mechanical, electrical, and IandC concepts.* Thorough understanding of OSHA 1910/1926 regulations and their application
