Description of Duties:
The Sr. Systems Engineer supports theMissile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development forEnterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
Mentor and train juniorengineers on the team
Perform leadershipduties within the organization such as provide training, leading largerefforts, directing others, approving timecards, and providing employeefeedback.
Apply classical systemsengineering approaches to requirements analysis, technical assessments andtrade studies, and project technical oversight.
Provide guidance on theengineering efforts of assigned projects by:
Setting the projectsscope and objectives
Guiding the projectsexecution
Evaluating the projectsstatus and prescribing the necessary corrective actions to keep the project oncourse.
Interact withstakeholders to define and understand their problem and document the projectssystem requirements, system interfaces, system test procedures, and systembaseline technical documents such as interface control specification documents,drawings, concepts of operations, requirements traceability matrices, systemdescription documents, build sheets, and test plans.
Interact withstakeholders, system users, and project team members to help facilitatefunctional system analysis, functional architecture development, and providesystem design support.
Identify and manageproject risks and opportunities and help drive project success
Develop and presentproject briefing to project stakeholders
Participate incross-organization coordination
Coordinate with projectmembers to develop testing and verification to ensure system requirements aremet
Develop appropriatepolicies, processes, and/or procedures to ensure continuity and standardizationof engineering principals throughout the systems life-cycle
Coordinate withConfiguration Management to define configuration items, manage and controlconfiguration changes, and record and report changes to maintain the accuratesystem baselines.
Coordinate with QualityAssurance to develop methods and metrics to ensure that defined standards,practices, procedures, and process methods are applied during throughout thesystems life-cycle.

Havegood communication skills with demonstrated experience in briefing seniorcustomers and management
This position will be filled atSchriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO.

Must have one of the followingcombinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 14 years ofgeneral experience; Associate’s degree and 12 years of general experience;Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 8years of general experience.
Must have at least 8years of directly relate experience working with systems engineering processesand tools supporting requirements development, risk management, tradestudies/analysis, and verification & validation.
Must have at least 2years of experience in a management or leadership role
Must have successfullycompleted a Skillbridge or Hiring our Hero’s program
Must have, or be ableto obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in aSTEM discipline preferably systems engineering or computer/IT
Systems engineeringcertification such as ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP.
Development experience;experience with IT architecture
Hands-on requirementsdevelopment experience
Familiarity withinformation technology concepts (i.e., communication networks, computer andnetworking hardware)
Proficient with MSOffice applications (including Visio, and MS Project)
Knowledge of MissileDefense, DoD communications systems, and MDIOC operations
