POSITION: Public Health Nurse PracticionerREQUIREMENTS:QUALIFICATIONSA successful Public Health Nurse Practitioner will have the following traitsand abilities:-Current certificate to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State ofColorado.-Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to dependabletransportation readily available forbusiness use.-At least one year of appropriate nursing experience, with the expandednursing function evidenced bycompletion of an organized educational program in either adult health,women's health care, or family planning nurse practitioner with a certificate.-Knowledge of concepts of public health nursing practice and ability to applyconcepts to adiverse patient population.-Ability to develop sound judgment relative to caseload management andrecognition of prioritiesin the context of limited nursing resources.-Incredible work ethic and passion for community health.-Ability to speak, read, and write English; Spanish or other languageshighly desired - Bilingual Incentive: NCHD compensates bilingual employeeswith an additional salary stipend torecognize the value it brings to our operations.-Excellent interpersonal skills required and ability to interactprofessionally and with compassion with clients.-Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, word processing,spreadsheets, and databases.WAGE: $75.00-$100.00 hourly based upon experience. BilingualIncentive: employer compensates bilingual employees with an additionalsalary stipend to recognize the value it brings to our operations. The PublicHealth Nurse Practitioner position is a part-time position funded by grants,contracts and percapita contributions. While there is no guarantee of continued employment iffunding is discontinued,NCHD will attempt to place the affected employee in a position of equalresponsibility and wage, if aposition is open and available.BENEFITS: Availability of benefits for this position to be discussed withemployer.DAYS AND HOURS: Part time position (32-40 hours/week), Exempt.Schedule to be arranged with employer.DUTIES: PRIMARY DUTIES:The Public Health Nurse Practitioner provides primary health care in the areaof reproductive health for bothfemales and males, as part of an interdisciplinary team focusing onquality, culturally sensitive care to meet theneeds of a diverse clientele and community.
