The ideal candidate will be responsible for appropriately evaluating the costof a project, and evaluating the cost to take on that project. The candidatewill be familiar with our competitive advantages as an organization and willbe able to communicate those to our benefit throughout the bidding process.We are a Concrete subcontractor specializing in commercial flatwork/sitework and structural projects seeking a highly motivated Concrete Estimator whocan assist the company meet its revenue and project profitability goals.Responsibilities Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aidbidding process Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accuratecost estimates Develop and improve relationships with general contractors and repeatowners to provide solutions and pricing for their projects Build relationships to source material, vendor, and subcontractor pricing Attend GC pre-construction meetings Perform take-off quantities and calculate labor costs and materialexpenses for new construction projects Prepare estimates and bid packages for various projects Develop and share detailed budget assumptions with project managers andforemen during internal project launch Monitor work pipeline and keep it full to meet company objectives Update internal pricing table as needed Monitor competition and economy to make recommendations for future bids Work with marketing communications to craft educational/contentcommunications strategy for GCs and repeat owners May be called upon to perform other dutiesQualifications 4-year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering,business management or related field 7 Years of experience in the concrete construction industry in amanagement rolePreferred SkillsThe successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis onintegrity, communication, and work-ethic.The position has the following requirements: Ability to work in a demanding environment Strong understanding of geometry Strong analytical skills Experience in concrete construction estimating and project management,preferably in a flatwork, sitework and structural environment Excellent leadership skills with a sense of urgency in a fast pacedenvironment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Assertive yet diplomatic Customer service oriented Extremely observant with strict attention to detail Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to follow directions to the letter Takeoff Software Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint),Microsoft Project skills
