Position: Grant WriterMusts:Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, English or related fieldMinimum 2 years of grant writing experience.Must possess a valid current state-issued driver's license and not be undersuspension, revocation or denial nor have any prior alcohol or drug-relateddriving offenses within Requirements: the last five years. A driving recordsearch will be conducted on all applicants prior toemployment and will be subject to observation throughout their employment.Successful candidates must pass a physical examination in accordance with jobduties, a background investigation and drug screen prior to employment .CPR and First Aid training required.Skills:Knowledge ofGrant application processes.Local, state and federal funding opportunities.Skilled in:Writing, grammar and research.Bookkeeping and record keeping principles and practices; accuracy andattention to detail.Presentation and interpersonal communications to diverse audiences, bothorally and in writing.Ability to:To listen to, read, understand and communicate the English language sothat others are able to understand . This must be done both orally and inwriting, at the level appropriate for the position held.Effectively research and analyze grant information.Prioritize appropriately and schedule work to meet multiple deadlines.Duties: This position is responsible for researching, writing andcoordinating with various City departments to complete and submit grantapplications for the City of Trinidad. This position will be required to beon-site at the Space to Create office approximately 20 hours per week. Write high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications and supportingdocuments. Responsible for researching, collecting data, and writing of each grant. Work with Department Heads to determine grants available to the specificneeds of that department, and work closely with the grant administrator toensure compliance with all active grants. Manage the proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of allrequired materials. Identifies grant funding opportunities and organizes and maintains a grantcalendar accessible to all Department Heads. Maintains proficient knowledge of the City's history and programs. Develops relationships and collaborates with key stakeholders, includingDepartment Heads, government entities, and granting agencies to compilefinancial information and data. Submits the required supporting documentation to the prospective funder. Collaborates with the Economic Development Director to compile an annualreport for submission to the City Manager and City Council.
