Job Title: Deputy City ClerkMusts: High School Diploma/GED and one-year experience in clerical tradesor equivalent combination of education and experience. Current driver slicense. Colorado Driver s License within three months of hire. Must becommitted and capable of progressing in education and training to become acertified municipal clerk and also complete training offered by the State,CML, and others.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Knowledge of all City licensing procedures. Proficient within three months.Knowledge of City geography and ability to read and interpret maps. Knowledgeand skill in taking minutes for City Council and other boards and commissions. Skill in creating and maintaining computer and physical file systems.Knowledge, Skills, and Ability in operating Personal Computers andsoftware used by the City. Skills in customer service. Must be highlyorganized and able to adapt to constantly changing demands on time. Must bedetail oriented to ensure all legal documents, licenses, and processes arecompleted properly. Skilled in or have the ability to learn a variety ofoffice machines.Duties: Incumbent provides a wide range of administrative support duties forthe City including, but not limited to taking minutes of meetings,establishing and distributing agenda packets, organizing and maintainingcomputer and physical filing system, managing applications and renewals ofall licenses managed by the City, performing human resources assistantduties, and performing or supervising municipal court clerk duties. Takesminutes, creates and distributes agenda packets, manages keeping ofordinances and resolutions, manages all licenses issued by City,coordinates City elections with County Clerk and Recorder. Performs a widerange of duties regarding City employees including maintaining employeerecords, managing drug/alcohol testing, conducting exit interviews,participating in employee onboarding, and serves as City safety officer.Manages court caseload, preparing for and assisting municipal judge inscheduling and holding court, notifies those charged of court dates,manages the collection of fees and fines. Must seek training in other jobs inCity Hall and assist in fulfilling assignments of other positions as needed toensure smooth operation of City Hall. Other duties as assigned can vary dayto day based on identified needs of City.Physical Requirements:Light Lifting: Must be able to lift 25 pounds occasionally and/or apply upto 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 5 pounds constantly to moveobjects.Must be able to stand, walk, crawl, crouch, reach, touch, grasp,finger, balance, stoop, push, pull, talk, and hearWorker is required to have visual acuity to operate a personal computer.Worker may be exposed to infectious disease and will be required to wearprotection as individual conditions demand.Pay: Negotiable depending on experience.
